You start in the shallows, the direction of the swim is clockwise around 4 buoys, and the finish is in the shallows. This is a guided swim where the objective is to introduce newcomers to the basics of openwater and cold-water swimming.
Questions are encouraged and this a great way to start the journey.

You start in the shallows, the direction of the swim is clockwise around 4 buoys, and the finish is in the shallows.
There is a maximum of a 5 minute grace to complete the route from the specified time limit i.e. 50 minute max for 45 minute route.
This route has something for everyone. It’s a lekker route with fabulous views. You start in the shallows and swim clockwise around six buoys, finishing up where you started.
Tips: after the 1st right-shoulder turn - that is deep buoy 1 - aim for the red house above the wide-block of flats above Moses Beach (Sea Point side).
Continue past deep buoy 2 and onwards to deep buoy 3. Right-shoulder turn to shallow buoy 4.
After the 3rd right-shoulder turn, aim for the red-roofed bungalow on the ridge. It’s a fine swim back towards Camps Bay side. Swim past shallow buoy 5 and continue to shallow buoy 6. Left-shoulder turn around buoy 6 and aim for the finish bobber buoys in the shallows. There is a maximum of a 5 minute grace to complete the route from the specified time limit i.e. 65 minutes max for the 60 minute route.
